Flexible Light Guides

Flexible light guides are either "Liquid-filled" or made of quartz fibres. There are advantages and disadvantages for each type. The proper choice of light guide, optical accessories and bandpass filter requires the assistance of an expert.

Quartz fibre light guides are most certainly the best choice when multi-branched light guides are to be used. Over 30% more throughput power than standard multi-legged liquid light guides.

Light guides are available in several lengths and diameters. Multi-branched quartz fiber light guides are available in several configurations

Since 1988, Gentec has offered adhesives and equipment of the highest quality. In the Gentec applications lab, we use Omnicure technology together with adhesives from EpoTek, Norland and Cyberbond to evaluate potential bonding solutions. By combining our years of experience, our in-depth understanding of UV curable adhesives and the Omnicure Spot-Curing equipment, Gentec strives to provide elegant bonding solutions without delay.

Optical Accessories

Adjustable Collimating Lens Adaptors:

adjustable collimating adapter Couples to standard light guides available in 3mm, 5mm and 8mm. Ideal for applications that requires a uniform spot from 25 to 150mm. Applications include Photolithography, Semi-conductors and several large area curing requirements. Get the brochure

90 degree Mirror adapters:

Couples to standard light guides available in 3mm, 5mm and 8mm. They redirect the light at right angles. They are used when space constraints do not allow the light guide to bend within the minimum radius speciications. Get the brochure

By choosing the appropriate optical accessory, you make efficient use of the UV light and that means lower lamp replacement costs.

Filters

Lamp spectrum with no filter

spectrum with no filter
Long wavelength UV and visible blue light pass through glass, ceramics, plastics and other organic material. They also penetrate deeper into UV curable resin than short wavelength UV does. Short wavelength UV provides a good tack-free surface cure.

EXFO has a family of products built around high pressure mercury arc lamps. The irradiance from these lamps is typically greater than 25,000 mW/cm2 from 250 - 500 nm.

EXFO has developed a series of optical filters that can be used to provide selected spectral pass bands tailored to many common applications.

Have a look at spectral data for all available filters.

R2000 Radiometer

EXFO radiometer

The new EXFO R2000 Radiometer can be combined with the OmniCure Series 2000 to provide a complete curing system with unmatched control and repeatability. Special electronics built into the R2000 Radiometer allow for connection of custom sensors for measuring light energy directly at the cure site.

  • Communication with OmniCure Series 2000 to set irradiance levels and calibrate system
  • Proprietary detector system for accurate wideband measurements
  • Proprietary optical interface that virtually eliminates beam profile dependence
  • Light Guide detector and color coded adapters to insure accurate measurements
  • Memory for storing data with PC software for downloading
